I'm a live acoustic player myself, but you do realize that 'most' electronic music is actually played out on midi keyboard during production, right? But the playing of the notes isn't what is appealing in electronica, is the manipulation of the sound itself.

It's like back when kids would sit in their garage and tweak their distortion to try and produce different sounds from their guitar, except that now its easily 20+ instruments and nearly a hundred different ways to tweak each sound.

Whether you think it qualifies as music is extremely irrelevant, its here and apparently people enjoy it [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Your picture portrays the exact evolution of sound manipulation I'm talking about. Elvis Presley played the electric guitar, Hendrix played the electric guitar, but does their guitar sound like Kurt Cobain? Hell no. Do previous generations like the way younger generations warp 'their' sound? Generally, no, but its the way things go. Live with it.

It was the evolution of rock. Not the evolution of electroshit.

meh, haters gonna hate :P I grew up a metal head, love punk, reggae, ska, grunge, folk, pretty much everything.

Producing electronica appeals to me because there is so much science and knowledge that goes into using synthesizers, knowing the wave forms etc. Plus I'm writing the bass, writing the melody, writing the drums, and after all of that comes the actual mixing (the same thing that goes into all of the rock / metal you like) except I actually do it myself, which is more than most guitarists / bassists / vocalists / drummers can say.

Then after the mixing process, I master it, I'll easily dump 30-40 hours into just one song.

The whole process is fun, challenging, interesting, and rewarding [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] It is by no means "easy"

Polka isn't my favorite genre of music, but I'm not a douche and going to tell people who play it that it sucks and its easy etc etc. So don't be so narrow minded, I hate elitist internet know it alls on the internet especially when it comes to music.

It's easy to sit there and judge, hate, and be prejudice against people while sitting behind the computer screen, but what exactly have you accomplished in the music world that even makes your opinion worth 2 shits?

I bought albums to help support my favorite bands, I go to their shows and buy their merchandise. I'm a paying customer who constantly contributes my assets towards the music industry.
