Game Mechanics: Weapon Skill-Ups bugged?

They're not too bad depending on what your dexterity skill is.

My Ogre warrior has over 150 dex unbuffed, he is level 23 now and his defense skill is like 20 points off max, his weapons skills suck as well and I am struggling to keep them up. I started working on 2hs myself and that went up like 7 points in a 2 hour period.

So I doubt this issue is based on Dex...I was starting to think it was int based.

I was wondering the same thing myself. Bought my level 20 monk a Wu's Quivering Staff yesterday and headed to lake of ill omen. My husband's druid healed me as I killed mobs ranging from dark blue to yellow. I got 1 skill up out of 50-something mobs.

Thought I was having a streak of bad luck, but if others are having the same problem there might be a problem.

My ogre warrior is 19 and has 1HB and 1HS capped, 2HB is 50 and that took about an hour.
But when I got a VoG and shaman dexterity buff and with 232 dex I was getting 1-3 skill ups every mob. Please tell me you're not fighting red con mobs with an Oggok Cleaver.

The first 20 skill ups take longer than the next 80.

Lvl 22 shammy here. I've been trying to get a second weapon skill maxed since I hit level 12... I can keep piercing maxed, 1hb at cap-10, and 2hb at cap-50.

It is partly weapon based as my blunt weapons are trash. Still, I seem to cap piercing within the 1st orange bubble, and then the next 4 bubbles net at most 4 skill ups.
