Ok when i set the "Exe Path:" to the shortcut that i put on my desktop (the one i couldn't edit) it says, "Please run EverQuest.exe"

When i change it to the actual "C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" it says

"eqgame.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" LOL

back to square 1.
Setting it back to regular eqgame.exe without patchme will cause it to try and patch the game and break doing so (not having an appropriate patch server to connect to).

You HAVE to set it with patchme. Try copying the ENTIRE EQ folder to a new folder just in the C drive. NOT in Program Files or anything like that. Say you named the folder EQP99. Your Target box would then look like this:

Code:
C:\EQP99\eqgame.exe patchme
Do it this way. Installing EQEmu clients to Program Files is just a pain in the ass.

I bet its resolution related. Can you try running it windowed?
This guy was right. B4 i reinstalled the game and did all that i tried editing the Options.exe and setting the game to run in 1024x768 but that didn't work so i gave up on the idea that it was resolution based. then i found this:

When I try to open EQ, the window blinks black and then closes and I get an error, but EQ never even starts.
Most likely you are having a resolution or drivers issue. Try adjusting your EQ or Desktop Resolutions or updating your video drivers. It may just be that EQ is trying to start in a resolution that it does not support. If setting your desktop to 1024X768 does not work, then you may need to set it in your eqclient.ini. There should be a file named OptionsEditor.exe in your Everquest folder. Open that program and set your resolution to 1024X768 and see if that helps. If not, run it again and try other resolutions. Once you have it working, you should be able to adjust your resolution from in game and then /camp out to save the new settings.

So i changed my desktop res to 1024x768 and now it works. Vala. Smh.

Tyvm Danyelle for helping me and taking the time to help me. I super appreciate it, really. This is why i prefer EQ to all other games. it's the players. ty to everybody else. now i'ma go game it [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]!

Thank you again!
