Loraen. I was in Vesica Dei for a few months and quit because I got tired of the ridiculous batphoning (I never really intended to join a raid guild). It's actually not impossible that this started the chain reaction that lead to the breakup of VD (although IMO this was going to happen anyway, as that mixture of hardcore and casual was just not stable) so yall should be thanking me. Let me be clear on one thing: I'm supercompetitive. When I play basketball or chess or whatever, I play to win. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. But EQ as a game is simply not designed for people to race for mobs. Real competitive EQ in my opinion is killing mobs with fewer numbers than the other guy. Which is actually the part that I enjoy, and I go out of my way to try and do this even when the loot isn't there. I spent like 3 hours trying to trio Korocust once. I still have to go back and try and finish that one.
