This is directed towards Amelinda, not developers, if you had a brain or read the thread you would have known this. She polices the server and does other CSR work. She does not deal with the resistance system. Also this event would not even be all that time consuming. Summon players to arena, close door, fight. If everyone is online ready to go. This thing would take less than half an hour from setup to good game.
I think you should redirect that comment at yourself. Amelinda polices the cheaters which is a better use of her time than playing "favorite pvp champ troll master" with a couple of top guilds while everyone else that benefits from the limited amount of time she spends on the server is ignored. Which is what I indicated is my problem with an event like this. It is using a limited resource (Amelinda) which would detract from the server quality for people not involved.

U mad?

okay so for half an hour cheats will run rampant on our server. what do you think happens the 18 hours shes not online? its not like anyones going to be raiding while their 12 "best" members are involved in a pvp battle. if GM events is a problem then you are in trouble because Amelinda already announced there are more comin in the future. GM events = EQ.

You're taking it too personal. It isn't me who is in trouble it is the server.

Think about it another way. If people are cheating 18 hours a day when Amelinda isn't online, and you want to distract her for an hour and a half, you effectively push that 18 hours to 19 and a half. For bragging rights? Seems worth it.

This is the type of event that should be sponsored by players. If you want to see it happen you have all the ability you need to make it happen with the cooperation of players involved. If those people aren't interested than it won't happen.

I'd also like to add that it is these types of events that started to make obvious the divide in players on the VZ/TZ server and inspired cries of favoritism and distrust in the staff. Not that it was misplaced as it became obvious that it was a reality. However people started down that road to discovery after events like this and might have been blissfully ignorant longer had they not occurred.
