I'm with the croud that think these developers are wonderful, Kanras included of course. We are mighty lucky to have them. I hope my comment is not received as a complaint or an expression of dissatisfaction - it is most emphatically not. Like Kanras, I am interested in getting as close to the real Classic experience as is possible.

Ah but Shaman pets did dual wield with weapons at some point. There are several posts scattered over the web referring to giving Shaman pets weapons to make them dual wield (so far I can't find one from 2001 though). Also I do remember them doing so on live. Finally, the fact that EQEmu allows this by default is also evidence of a sort.

So I guess the real issue is when Shaman pets did not accept weapons in order to dual wield. Kanras may well be right that they did not do so in the 2001 time frame. However, I'd be more comfortable with this knowing when they began accepting weapons if anyone can find a post to that effect. Again, I can say for certain that they did take weapons at one point.
