BTW I have already responded to this, but, the y-axis thing doesn't really help you at all. If you tested any of these methods you will notice you will get just as owned higher in the y-axis. Since most of you didn't and are mostly trolling around- I'll explain it for you.
Y-Axis: It gives bards a better "sight" on the target, in the video you will notice I talk about using the corners of oasis specs. The reason for that is a lot of bards use the dunes or circle the specs. By using the corners and getting higher Y-Axis height, you have a much lower chance of being LoS'd. (Line of Sighted) Charm 'Pausing' / Multi-Charm: I did not charm on live- I was too young to understand it and I sucked at this game (not much has changed.) So when I first stumbled upon this I bug reported it, along with a ton of other exploits charm could be used for. My thought is this: Either charm has a memblur portion built into it, its bugged, or it isn't a fixed bug to make up for swarm kiting being utterly useless. To end- try testing things on your own sometime to see if you even know what you are talking about. Quit focusing on the bad as well- I find it very interesting that since WoW, people see something another class can do and start burning witches so fast all we ever see are nerfs. If people would focus on things such as Bards not being able to swarm kite, AoE kite (you can AoE kite, just not.. like your supposed to be able to...) faction kite, auto-run kite, instrument swap kite, etc, etc, there would be no need to metagame so hard. Also, if you have ever been able to charm a lvl 37+ mob anywhere, including the planes for almost full duration, pull the log out of your eye before you pull the thorn out of mine. This will be my last update / post on this thread, which kinda depresses me because I really wanted to give back to the community, but appears we don't have one to give back to.

im not hating bud, im just saying that you found a bug and you're just exploiting it when u should really do everything you can to NOT make use of it (charm pausing). It's like saying that if whoever did exploit the money bug and reported it but still were using in the end had a legitimate right to use it..because they bug reported it?

Forgive me for just wanting to make sure that I won't get banned for attempting this.
All I wanted was an official answer. I have yet to hear anything so I will assume it's safe for any bard on the server to use with impunity. Bard charm has no memory blur component so that should not be happening. If nothing else, it should be behaving the same way with enchanter charm since they are identical spells. It's a legitimate question and I was not intending on hurting any feelings by asking. (The Y-axis thing was already answered a couple pages ago and I acknowledged it.) Lastly, I am currently leveling up a bard, why the hell would I want to see the class nerfed?

The video link appears to have been removed from the original post, but I would be extremely interested in some bard how-to videos. I have recently started playing my first bard, and would love to see the proper way to AoE kite, as well pull/manage aggro.
My bard is level 11, so a video oriented around noob kiting and/or pulling would be ideal for me. I never played a bard in original EQ, so I don't really know the difference between original kiting and p99 kiting - to be honest I am clueless when it comes to bard activities beyond twisting here using macros! Some videos would be the best way to understand what can be done. I hope you did not take your video down in response to the criticism of the replies here. I think you should definitely re-upload, as I believe many would still be interested in watching. I don't know if some of these other guys have been living under a rock, but I'd think people would be used to seeing tacky graphics all over the web by now. As long as the content of the video has something to offer, the presentation doesn't matter as much to me. Albeit a simple screen-grab video possibly with a voice-over is all that is necessary, I would love to see your instructional video in whatever current state it is in. | ||
