Spells: bards broke since patch

could u fix clickies and pots too while you are on it please. iam not able to cast them while playing a song as it should be

The whole EQ emu source is massively disorganized. If someone were to simply organize the existing code, it would be 10x easier to do anything (no hyperbole). Scrolling through thousands of lines in attack.cpp looking for one little thing isn't really efficient.

I remember plowing through the bard song code some and I didn't even try to fuck with that. I'm sure real EQ has separate code for song functionality, but on emu they just reused normal spell code and ghetto-hacked it up to work for bards.

In addition to that, I have noticed that it is impossible to use a thrown weapon while singing. I can throw after I turn songs off, but while its on I click ranged attack and nothing happens. I tried it with throwing daggers and shuriken.

Edit: Just so you know, I don't know if bards are actually supposed to be able to do this, it just seemed fishy to me.

I got a lot of the bard code straight now. I put myself at about 95%.

Bards should be able to use clickies while singing?

Anything to back that up? Just asking, as it will get backed out of the code if it shouldnt be in there, so I dont want to waste time trying to do that if its not okay.

played a bard on live for around a year in the early 2000ies and iam very positive on this (see also the other post about throwing weapons in this thread)

will try to find something when i come home, this will be tricky to find on the nets.

anyone here with an active live account? would be easier to test it out on live!

Remember though, even if it does work on live now, it doesn't mean that it worked that way in classic!

would be just a doublecheck since iam pretty confident it used to work already 9ish years ago
