The graphics are the best I have ever seen on a 360, and in a game for that matter.
Because they stopped going crazy with useless shader effects that bog down the game and just went apeshit with geometry and textures, and a few volumetric fog effects here and there.
Best example of useless shader effect bog I can think of = Bioshock
