1) Griffin, sorry... I leveled from 4-~9 has a human pally every day for a week w/out seeing this guy; but if you killed him, he's there =P
2) Back in 99' I was a DE SK, so that might have something to do with it. I also had a halfling dru who slaughtered them for fun... something else to do with it? But they are not in P99 currently.
3) YES! Magic carpets! My friend told me a story, that he heard from someone, who heard it from someone else, and so on and so on... but if you went out from EC tunnel, to the edge of the sand & grass and looked up, there were three squares in a "v" formation flying toward FP. The story I heard was that when you got higher up, and visited the planes there was a special way to travel on the carpets and if you fell off you would zone into EC. I never confirmed that you could ride them, but I did see them on a daily basis. And this was Pre PoP- I joined the week of Kunark's release, and my friend had been playing about a month prior to Kunark, and they were in at that point. Over time it seemed that they were simply there for looks, but I would flip a brick if I saw them again in game.
