Having digested the fact that it will get better, realize that it will get worse again later. Rangers are not one of the best classic soloing classes. But hey, if you want to play one, that should not stop you.

You can root mobs and shoot them with a bow. Ranger soloing is highly dependent on gear which is why most people don't play one as a first character. I know a ranger who soloed from 1-50 in classic but he had Rubi BP, FBSS, dual SSoYs, etc.

That Dragon Horn Ykesha won't be particularly useful to you until your late L30's when it start procing. If you can find a Polished Granite Tomahawk, that will help you out in solo situations because of the damage absorbing proc it has (which starts at level 10). On P99, it also has the strange effect of healing you a little in addition to the absorption effect .. using it when soloing with my Shadow knight thru the teens, I would engage light blues instead of sitting to heal myself. Be sure to switch the PGT out in group situations if you're not the tank, as Berserker Strength pulls aggro considerably well [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
