So I made a DE enchanter and ran him down into East Commons. I'd gone no more than a couple hundred steps when I was struck down by a wandering guard. Are they different faction than the Freeport Guards? Based on the information above, I should assume that if I make it all the way to Freeport, I won't have the same problem, right?

The info i've presented is for agnostic warriors only. Expect all other combos to be worse faction, except when they mesh with the faction in question (i.e. an your enchanter would have the faction edge over the warrior when it comes to the Freeport Magic Users guild, or a DE cleric of innoruk should of the faction edge over the warrior when it comes to the Freeport Dismal Rage Innoruk cult).

Since you ran into what was most likely Freeport Militia, you could not have expected to have better faction then a dark elf agnostic warrior and instead a good chance of having worse faction.

EQ factions are very deep and logical, someone put a lot of thought into them once upon a time and its one of the system I always bring up when talking about the deepness of Everquest.

And of course the info I am saying here is the "official" faction levels for agnostic evil race warriors only. To help p99 get closer to "how it was in 2002" (or i should say 1999 since im sure they did not change faction between 1999 and 2002 in general).

I'm glad you said you died to that guard in commonlands, shows that the factions here are closer to what is intended. (as opposed to the other things I've heard, like Druids buying/selling in Calibis and Iskar being loved too much)

Now if you ran an agnostic DE warrior into the commonlands and the freeport militia killed you.. that would be wrong.
