Loved em. While in the military back in the 80's joined the Stephen King book club and read about everything he did under Stephen King and his Pen name Peter Strauss. Dark Towers were great!
His pen name was Richard Bachman. Peter Strauss actually just wrote along with him to make The Talisman, and Black House. I believe they are actually making a 3rd now.
I loved the Dark Tower series, but The talisman was probabaly one of the best books ever written and if anyone hasnt noticed that is a Stephen King fan, nearly all his books tie into each other concerning the Dark Tower.

The talisman compared to Black House....I'll have to go with BH. Talisman was great, but BH (which i literally just finished reading the other day for the 3rd time), to me, had so much more going for it. The fact it directly tied to DT (multiple mentions of roland) was a huge bonus as well....If they decide to make a 3rd one (which AFAIK is only rumor) then I promise you I will pick it up immediately and read it non-stop.

Stephen King is really the only author I care to meet. He is a fantastic person and a writer.

I like The Dark Tower as well. I'm healing in a group, though, so I won't go into it.

I felt the same way after reading The Little Engine That Could.

Seriously though, I idolized King as a child but his writing is often gratuitously self-indulgent, and the Dark Tower books are probably the most egregious example of it. As a huge horror fan, though, he's the King. The Stand changed my life when I read it as a young boy. I've been waiting for most of you to die ever since.

I cannot wait for the new Dark Tower novel to come out. But it may be another 2 or so years.

definitely my favorite book series ever..awesome character development

regular ending = completely satisfied
the middle thing at the end (codec?) = whatever
the conclusion after the book after the codec = "lol in your face gunslinger!"

Total abstinence is so excellent a thing that it cannot be carried to too great an extent. In my passion for it I even carry it so far as to totally abstain from total abstinence itself.

Curious how the TV show/Movies combo will go. Seems like an interesting way to bring a series to life.
