Having already quit months ago, I'll say I'm definitely not ever playing P99 again because of the .dll file bullshit. There will always be cheaters, some of them getting away with more than others.

Yea, exactly because of security concerns. They had no right to have people download something like that without telling everyone EXACTLY what it is capable of.

Fuck dude, get over it. If they had clued the general server population in on what the .dll was, then I guess they probably wouldn't have caught NEARLY as many of them hacking after implementing it, thus defeating the purpose.

You hidin' kiddie pr0n on your PC or something and don't wanna get caught? You sound pretty fucking adamant about degrading their anti-hack efforts considering you "quit months ago". If you're dumb enough to believe that they would patch the .dll to do anything outside of returning the file paths of eqgame.exe hooks, then you can keep the tinfoil hat on while I continue to laugh at you. As it is, they've done no damage nor caused any personal loss against anyone using the files, why would they cross a legal threshold later on and subject themselves to serious legal ramifications? Just to run a clean server? Laugh.

I don't know you in game but it's really odd to me that you don't play on the server yet you are so upset over something that has pushed this server in the right direction. Sort of like Ullaelalelaen crying about humanity in one forum section and saying he didn't get banned, that he quit and uninstalled, yet in another post the same day he's asking for help logging into the game in the Technical Discussion section. Just seems odd to me. What are you playing at here by bad mouthing the legality of the .dll if you don't even play here any more?

Idk... if they had clued people in and told everyone what they were implementing, I feel like the smart cheaters would have stopped ackin and the dumb ones would have still gotten caught.

Kinda creeps me out that they didn't tell us what was in the updates and that so many of us (including me) blindly downloaded otherwise harmful files. But what the fuck do I know

Nope, you're an idiot for not trusting a stranger over the Internet.

Anyone who defends the stealth inclusion of those files is a serious asskisser, or an absolute moron. Why don't you go ahead and let your government install cameras in your house . . .I mean, if you're not breaking any laws, it doesn't matter, right? Hell, let some random person you don't know do the same thing, it's all good brah!

I quit; gave my gear to random newbs. If the server management is stupid enough to make this kind of move, and then NOT DELIVER after taking all that risk and violating so many peoples' trust, then I'd rather not play here. Especially after seeing the only dev with balls storm off because there wasn't a fair punishment.

The smart ones would have went around it. (or waited for someone to show them how, more likely)
