Default LFG AFK LD Tags not classic currently

So was reading patch history pages and found out LFG AFK and LD tags are not currently displayed currectly. Per this patch http://www.tski.co.jp/baldio/patch/20020108.html.

JANUARY 8, 2002:
Quote:
Also, the LFG, AFK and LD tags will always show if names are not off. There will no longer be brackets around them, and LFG will now appear at the end of the name with the AFK and LD tags. (instead of being a * at the beginning)
So here are the examples I was able to find after about an hour of looking though old screenshots. The AFK/LD tags should be at the end of the name after guild tag as [AFK] and [LD]. Per a screenshots below

AFK Example 1: from this page

A few per this site. http://www.eqclassic.de/files/bildersaetze/index.html Looked through at least 1,000 of these images. Found some examples.

AFK Example 2:

LD Example 2:

LD & AFK Example:

The LFG sign is hard to spot. It is a * symbol.
LFG Example 1: Hard to spot its one of the guys near top.

LFG Example 2:

Ok so now that I have done some research and shown some examples. Can anyone back me up that this was how it was before Luclin came in? Also would this be possible to fix devs? I know we fixed the way guild tags are shown and made that correct last year sometime so figured this should not be to bad to implement.

So my name if I was looking for group, afk and ld would be. *Yurz Truly <Azure Guard>[AFK][LD]

Thoughts?

Ah man I really did do a search to see if this had been reported before. Looks like a long standing issue thats been known then. Least I figured out what the LFG tag is suppose to be, thats the only thing new I see between our posts and I have noted the patch note where it was changed after Luclin.

Can a dev respond to this one?

I need to test this more, but seems to work ok.

Display as lfg, afk, and ld.

From this patch, lfg as an asterisk was added in August 2000:
Quote:
------------------------------
August 30, 2000 8:00 am
------------------------------
- People with the /LFG (Looking for Group) flag set will now have their
over-head name prefixed with an asterisk. Remember that you can search
for people looking for a group by using the "/who" and "/who all"
commands. Typing "/who all ranger 40 50 lfg" will return a list of all
rangers between 40 and 50 that are looking for a group.
Prior to August 2000, was there any indication someone was lfg besides /who results?

It looks as if the /LFG flag itself was only added a couple weeks earlier.

Looking for Group Flag:

Players can now indicate that they are "looking for a group" by typing /LFG. This command will flag your character in both zone-specific /who lists, and the server-wide "/who all" list with "LFG". The LFG flag will remain active until you either enter a group or log out. Players can search for other players who are LFG by using filters in the /who command. For instance, to find rangers between level 40 and 50 who are looking for a group across the server, type "/who all ranger 40 50 lfg".

It is our hope that this flag will make it easier for players to seek out group members, allowing for more adventuring with less preparation time.

I think "bitch" may be too kind. I'm glad that the zone took her to
task for it.

>/lfg flag? I must have missed it.

It was in one of the last few weeks' patches.

I'd say it was created more to assist people in hooking up. One of the
long-time complaints about EQ is that it favors the hardcore gamer
over the casual player. The /lfg flag gives casual gamers a bit of a
boost by helping them find a group more easily.

Both used in conjunction. The important thing is to get into the game
and *play*, and anything that lets that happen faster is a good thing.
