Hit 24, done with Gorge Hounds in EK, trying to find a similar place.

I've peeped SK and OT and neither have the mob density / density of animals for charming that EK did and wondering if there's a nice spot to transition to?

Looking at EFP, Mammoths range from 22-26 so that seems bad for now don't want to deal with all the resists / breaks.

It's annoying spiders aren't considered animals, could cruise on crag spiders in EK.

Or am I just kinda stuck with root rotting for awhile?
I believe I did loio. Those grimalkins will take you pretty far. From there I moved onto iceclad which was very good in the 30s. The key there is to use the snow cougars to fight the swirling things around tofs. That way you won’t get a bunch of social aggro from other cougars. I think 40s got a little tricky I did some EJ and then just quadded loio Bloodgills until 51 and did perma bear pits 51-60 would not recommend doing that until at least 52 because the 44 charm spell allure of the wild is pure garbage I was only able to do it because I had epic.

What level did you start LOIO? I went there yesterday expecting to charm "a pond sturgeon" but apparently they aren't animals.. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I'm late to the party, but https://wiki.project1999.com/Per-Level_Hunting_Guide (if you limit it to Druid) has ideas.

Ok, so I'm growing weary of bats in Sol B -- is 51 too early for bear pits?

Ya. Gonna have a lot of charm breaks.

I know it sounds horrible, but I did KC for a couple levels after bats.

Offer to pull for groups, or buddy up with twink melees sitting at the entrance waiting for a group.

I honestly have no idea where you could charm between solb bats and bear pits. I would think pits is 53 at an absolute minimum (you get glamour which helps a little).

Keep an eye on /who all enchanter and necro, CoM floor 2 is a great charm spot thats far easier to get to / less risky than HS, and sometimes people just want to chill with a duo and not solo tryhard. Once you get up there, bind on top of the arena roof. If anything goes tits up you can gtfo and just gate back up top to reset / catch your breath / afk / etc.

Thanks for the info - Yeah, I don't want to drain all of my mana dealing with charm breaks, heh.

I'm actually bound at the 2nd floor in CoM, but often times when there is someone there - they decline my duo offer. Ah, well.

There is one necro who I continuously duo with, but his hours are so sporadic and sometimes its only for 20 minutes before he has to go.

I will get 60 some day!

Yeah thats the shitty state of today's game. Nobody wants to duo and help someone out. I always found it to be a much more relaxed time playing and a little social chatter to boot.

Keep trying. Maybe change your approach to how you ask, idk. Just keep gating there and seeing whats up....or if its empty use /who all and see if you can get someone to join ya. At least druid can pick them up and get them to EJ lickety split.

Filter on 51 Druid and you have several options, including CS wyverns, timorous deep raptors or (where I took my druid at that level) sentient suits in WL.

Speaking of Raptors -- I hear they aren't classified as animals -- is this true?

Because that contradicts many posts from Druid's Grove including https://thedruidsgrove.org/archive/eq/t-3841.html

I charmed raptors for a few levels.

With Cha at 85.

Charm gear was normal gear for me.

I kept the raptors clear with that. I still have not seen any 'science' on whether cha effects animal charming, but my low cha had no effect on my killing with a virtually full bar of mana and very little/no downtime.

Good question: it's been awhile since I leveled my Druid, and I was never a huge fan of XPing in TD, because of the lack of bind (it was a much better zone for my pots-bound Mage).

Plus, I think people tend to quad kite them more often (so animal classification doesn't matter) ... but I don't know the answer to your question, and would be curious to hear it.
