This is likely one of those instances where strictly adhering to that timeline would cause more social friction than the staff care to administer. In-era there would be vastly less people competing for her drops versus this late day where the majority of the people have gear and toons out the wazoo. Stick around long enough and you'll see the staff throw out a great deal of "classic" in the name of expedience or adherence to their personal vision of what the server dynamics should look like.
