Both.
On the one hand it's makes complete sense for a Rogue to do this from a roleplaying perspective, as Jimjam pointed out. Not a lot of P99 players roleplay these days in a game genre with "roleplay" in the name.
On the other hand, that is a lot of work to put in to screwing over your guild, and downplaying the actual DPS achievements of other players. At least AFK players make sense, people are lazy. This scam is more work than simply playing the game and helping out.
