Thank you both for the advice!

If I’m trying to hold down three spawns in the middle of the night or if I’m breaking the camp, I think I wouldn’t be able to use the pet because I’ll have to invis past the ICG. If I’m dad camping, yes I’ll do the pet method.

Another thought is that I could hold down two spawns on the same side and the ICG and keep the pet up with no invis needed. Mitigated the chance of an ICG aggro wipe as well.

I mained a chanter to gear my Shaman. Spamming the same spell didn’t really come into play for me although thinking about it, maybe color slant in the top gem would be nice on a charm break and then a color slant resist.

I read a thread when I first started shamaning and it was a debate about the difference between standing with a gcd and canni dancing or alternating with sit in order to get more mana and health back with your ticks. I believe the thread ended with people agreeing that sitting was slightly better. If someone mentioned the top slot gem in that thread, it went over my head.

I canni danced all the way to 60 by alternating sit and canni. I could save a slot on my hotbar by sitting with the spell book. So I put canni in the bottom slot next to the spell book so I wouldn’t have to move my mouse too far. Spamming canni in the top gem has been so much better. It even makes rebuffing between fights so much faster. I love it

Edit:also I rarely group and just started streaming so there wasn’t really anyone to give me feedback on my canni dance. Also I just got torpor maybe a month ago and the mobs get a lot more difficult when you farm at 60. I was able to kill 5 cliff golems without using the top gem slot method but the loot drop rate was shit so I had to start looking for better loot. There has been Better loot in crypt, but a more difficult camp. Every new cash camp I learned on my chanter, I got a little bit better at using my class. I’m expecting the same will happen with my shaman.

Also to get to 60 I was just epic root rotting 4 mobs at once.
i never once danced my shaman

just hard spam canni and sit - itll preserve your sanity

why would camping both hiero and jbb not allow you to use a pet? just reclaim, move to other room, summon pet?
