This is my first attempt at soloing Hierophant Prime Grekal. Feedback from the shaman community would be amazing! Please mute the video because a loud song comes in the middle of the video. Still trying to get the hang of the audio for streaming.

I think I need more clicky Junk buffs because by the end of the fight I had like zero buffs on and he was able to dispel my torpor a few times. Plus having zero buffs on for a close range fight seems really bad. i only have Gobbo ear though

Depending on your skill level or desire using ffmpeg may help you out.

ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -an -c:v copy silent.mp4

Code:
the ffmpeg -i part is just needed
The input.mp4 part is to be replaced by your file name. It handlea virtually all formats.
The -an part removes the audio.
The next part just makes a copy and creates the audioless file named silent.mp4.
That is a commandline command. Either windows (i know virtually nil about) or linux will work after installing the software.
Im assuming you are a windows user so maybe ffmpeg has a windows gui somewhere

thank you!

Another few questions for all: Is acumen worth casting on self for long fights or is it just a junk buff?

What are your favorite junk buffs that stack with your 60 buffs?

Is avatar worth a self cast even though it only lasts 6 minutes?

What about voice of the berserker?

just load up with all of em right before timer - iirc seb is 27:00 respawns...you don't need gina i just used to use my phone....id set it for 24 mins, hit it right after mob dies, then just go afk...3 mins is plenty of time to come back and prep...hell set it for 20 mins if you want to be safe at first and when you gain confidence can tighten it up

organize your book with all the junkers you plan to use so you can quickly open book, slot em, buff, slot em off

bear form is also good junker, i wouldnt bother w/ avatar - if bear gets dispelled you dont have to worry about re-applying it, but its a definite edge for engage

right before spawn you should be in bear form, fully buffed, pet out and hasted

as soon as it pops, send pet, move right outside melee range

malo
slow spam til land
torpor yourself
melee w/ tash stick til proc (this is optional, can be done without, just helps, make sure you're dex buffed...torpor slows you so it should help get that proc out quick)
epic click
pox
bane
melee w/ epic (or jbb spam)

thats it - just keep yourself nice and healthy early and let the 3 dots do their work...just pay attention and be ready for when dots are about to expire...you'll get a feel for their timers even without gina....even refreshing pox a bit early if it times well with your mana / torpors / etc is fine....what you DONT want is to get caught out by damage and be worried about healing yourself / getting mana back with no DoTs on him...thats worst case scenario...when everything is super comfy why not throw a fresh pox / bane out...epic is different you want that last hit

make sure to refresh all dots before flee (epic first, then pox, then fresh bane right before...this will get your epic rolling to the bigger damage hits during flee), and then spam root i guess....idk why i dont remember him running but w/e

your approach was just all wrong....he literally casted his entire mana bar on you before you started doing damage...better to just come out swinging

edit: how does a shaman have torpor and doesnt know about top slot GCD click

Thank you both for the advice!

If I’m trying to hold down three spawns in the middle of the night or if I’m breaking the camp, I think I wouldn’t be able to use the pet because I’ll have to invis past the ICG. If I’m dad camping, yes I’ll do the pet method.

Another thought is that I could hold down two spawns on the same side and the ICG and keep the pet up with no invis needed. Mitigated the chance of an ICG aggro wipe as well.

I mained a chanter to gear my Shaman. Spamming the same spell didn’t really come into play for me although thinking about it, maybe color slant in the top gem would be nice on a charm break and then a color slant resist.

I read a thread when I first started shamaning and it was a debate about the difference between standing with a gcd and canni dancing or alternating with sit in order to get more mana and health back with your ticks. I believe the thread ended with people agreeing that sitting was slightly better. If someone mentioned the top slot gem in that thread, it went over my head.

I canni danced all the way to 60 by alternating sit and canni. I could save a slot on my hotbar by sitting with the spell book. So I put canni in the bottom slot next to the spell book so I wouldn’t have to move my mouse too far. Spamming canni in the top gem has been so much better. It even makes rebuffing between fights so much faster. I love it

Edit:also I rarely group and just started streaming so there wasn’t really anyone to give me feedback on my canni dance. Also I just got torpor maybe a month ago and the mobs get a lot more difficult when you farm at 60. I was able to kill 5 cliff golems without using the top gem slot method but the loot drop rate was shit so I had to start looking for better loot. There has been Better loot in crypt, but a more difficult camp. Every new cash camp I learned on my chanter, I got a little bit better at using my class. I’m expecting the same will happen with my shaman.

Also to get to 60 I was just epic root rotting 4 mobs at once.

i never once danced my shaman

just hard spam canni and sit - itll preserve your sanity

why would camping both hiero and jbb not allow you to use a pet? just reclaim, move to other room, summon pet?

It’s quite impressive that your post count is only 10 yet you seem to have much more knowledge of this game than me!

I was using most of the functionality of GCD items like jboots and gobbo ear. I just didn’t know that putting it in the top slot allows you to spam faster when spamming the same spell. I would use it to reset gcd between color slant and allure/boltrans on my chanter. Doesn’t need to be in the top slot to do that.

Yes my shaman just got to 60 recently and I canni danced the whole way there with canni in the bottom slot. I could have gotten there faster had I known. It was shitty lvling this shaman but I made it. Now that I’m 60 with torpor it’s a completely different character and I’m learning how to play a torp shaman
