Does this have to do with the new rules as a result of the THJ lawsuit or is P1999 exempt. For example 800 player limit etc.

Almost certainly no; P99 has its own agreement, which does not have the same limitations as the general EQ Emulator license.

Whenever a dev takes a server down, it's to make changes that can't be made with that server running. It could be something as boring and innocuous as Rogean updating the OS version of the server ... or it could be that he's doing something to prepare for a future event (eg. Green 2.0).

We'll just have to wait and see.

I saw it was all of the servers, the entire EQEMU which is why I was asking. Maybe they changed the agreement because of the THJ lawsuit.

Googling EQEmu legal problems the AI said...Project 1999 (P99) and Quarm: Daybreak previously had a non-profit agreement with the well-known P99 emulator server, treating it as a "museum" for classic EverQuest. Project Quarm, another popular server, proactively shut down to seek a similar exemption, though the status of their negotiations is not publicly clear.

So the agreement is no longer in place?
