Does anyone remember the Asian guilds during classic?

They would take the silliest names and in general, not give a fuck about chaos events wherever they went. Over time they all got banned.

Dragons of Asia was a big one on Quellious. But these were not normal players. Of course, what's normal? Exactly. Thre isn't any normal.

I miss the circus days, and part of that was the international player base. My best guild leader was this rich guy from Pakistan who I think just did a shitton of meth. Biffins, was his name I believe.

That is a totally opposite experience to the one I had playing EQ during that time. My experience was that people were overall helpful and friendly, with only the occasional encounter with a dickhead.
I know a few people I played with and others that got black listed for KSing, taking camps etc. That was one of the things I liked about old school live is that you could actually Roleplay an "evil" character by doing stupid shit to others like training, KSing etc. without a GM shitting the place up with rules.

Wow...You played on Quellious? Holy shit I remember Dragons of Asia. I sold a swarmcaller to a ranger who was in their guild. He gave me a Sarnak Battle Shield and like 8k pp. I played a druid named Prhyme Tyme

I exploited a bug and tricked people into dropping their gear on the ground.
I would then snag that shit.
Soon they made it so your cursor can hold infinite items

Tunare had a guild called <Star> that was really shaking things up. Top guilds like Talisman were completely shook when they logged in and all of the mobs in the Plane of Hate were dead etc.

Tunare at the same time was a weird guild because it didn't feel like you had to be in a guild, but obviously there was at least one established guild during classic who was ahead of us all.

But yeah, Star was a China guild. Some dude ended up fall in love with a member and marrying them despite a huge language barrier. Would be curious what ever happened with those two honestly.

It's a true story. Those actually are ... some of the only instances where a player triggered me enough by my group experience with them that I still remember them years later. There was other people who were blatant boxers and what not. I remember avoiding them out of fear I could get in trouble etc. I didn't really know how to use OBS or Twitch back then, but if there's ever another new version of P99 I plan on streaming the entire time just so I have recordings of the cheaters, because some of it was pretty blatant.

Also I'm not a smurf account. I have at least 3 high level characters on this account, but a lot of times I like to spread my characters out on other accounts because in my experience it's faster to swap characters that way. Also I've never been banned before, but I know someone who got banned, and then continued playing on their other account like nothing even happened etc. So it could be an extra layer of security, but I don't really get in trouble on P99. Pretty rare for me to even group with another player these days :-\
Ok RecondoJoe. I still remember when you recorded yourself deleting your character and ranted about how you were leaving an never coming back yet here you are
