It's completely reasonable to say hey there were two quakes in quick succession and it was a holiday weekend where people had real life things going on and couldn't pay attention to the auction in a short 4-5 hour window (when normally auction windows in guilds are much longer).

Instead of having a melt down, OP should be understanding that leadership are trying to do the fair thing and give all guildies a chance to review the auction and make a decision (you would think as a guild member you'd be happy for your guildies to get this opportunity, even if it's for an item you want). OP then had the opportunity to bid in the 2n2 auction and should've done so.

At the very least, he shouldn't throw a fit until he knew if he lost the 2nd auction. This whole thing might be a moot point because it seems like he had a lot of DKP and probably would've won the greed auction.
Why is the onus on OP to accomodate the suspension of the rules to his detriment?

You of all people should know the rule of law is paramount.

I think reasonable people can agree that it seems like their policy wasn't accounting for the possibility of a quake like a couple hours after it was put up.

I think it's reasonable for leadership to flexible in that moment, especially in the context of a holiday weekend where people may be with their families and usually have more time to review an auction than they did in this case.

But again, seems silly for OP to come here and have a melt down over this technicality that may not have actually had a negative impact on him since he likely would have just won the 2nd auction. At the very least wait and see if the result you're worried about (i.e., losing the bid on the scales) actually occurs before coming and ripping everyone on a public forum.
