It’s not Nero.

"Five have fallen" likely refers to Roman emperors before Vespasian (Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, Nero).
Vespasian is "the sixth," and Titus, his son, is the "seventh" who reigns briefly.
"The eighth" could refer to Domitian or symbolize future emperors.
This interpretation views the passage as a symbolic pattern rather than a specific prediction.
it is "Nero" and we're on Nero 6,394 now, it was just code for "Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss" in a way that wouldn't get you killed cause you couldn't just say "this guy is a fuckin asshole" when they were shitposting on parchment

that's the cool thing about religions, they are written with heavy use of symbolism, imagery, and cryptic language, by men to fuck over other men and you can project whatever you want on the text and be correct.

btw these are totally the good guys,

don't mine the Final Fantasy final boss music that's been playing in the background since 325 AD, they totally didn't corrupt everything you think you know about God in their 1200 year reign of supremacy and don't worry about what's locked in the basement that's just some Dan Brown novel shit. and definitely don't read anything in the Apocrypha.

I can assure you that in a debate on apocrypha that I would run laps around you and your ai bot helping you form some hot takes about how god is dead and just a history book.

I find the nero arguments compelling.

But when you put them together in context you see that yeah, flat earth arguments are compelling too.

The book of revelations is an extension of the promise (that is written about without code) that jesus gave his followers.

Only people who are not his followers insist that it's not a religion, it's an old dusty book, with history written throughout it, except for the ONE part that is meant to literally be history, that's written in the future tense and only smart people will figure out that it's acdtually past tense.

Ironically, not one smart person had that idea until one thousand eight hundered years later.

Even though at the time "speaking in code" is something they claim was common (which there is no evidence for whatsoever).

There is no historical evidence indicating anyone spoke in code about any roman leaders to avoid persecution. And in the bible they mention nero's persicution. They also talk about other historical events. This would be the only one written in such abstract code.

there is no debate, you believe in sky daddy, that's the end of the debate between civilized adults. as a work of fiction, the shit in the apocrypha is cool though, like Gospel of Judas, and it's obvious why it was taken out because a concept like that is too high concept for a flock that isn't even allowed/trusted to read the shit themselves and has to have another man do it for them, until last Tuesday on the long track of time scale.
