The p99 patch that removed extra hotbars, pet window and many other non-classic windows had a lot of backlash and Rogean released this statement regarding the update:

Spoiler: Too far out of era to be considered for this project
Honestly? I know it's their box etc. But I agree with the backlash. Just because something is classic does not mean it's good. Like the whole losing buffs when zonings. Why the hell would you patch the games shortcomings/glitches into the game? I really am hoping someone comes along and gives an alternative to p99 some day, that keeps the spirit of the game while maintaining some of the QOL enhancements. Like getting rid of the map. I don't need the map, but let's not pretend it wasn't a pointless endeavor, what with eveyrone running multiple displays with the ability to keep the wiki open. Or don't get me started on removing DOT dmg messages or buff timers while everyone runs GINA anyway. They take all these measures to strip the game of any sort of enhancement that didnt fit iwth the era, but allow programs that completely undermine their efforts anyway.
