Not every guild throws 70+ max geared characters at raid content. When you’re doing NToV with 18-24 to maybe 30 characters … having a warrior front line tanking can make or break the success threshold when you’re operating the bare minimum number of clerics to roll a chain for a long ass fight. Extra clerics? Stoutness of the tank matters less. Extra dps? Fights end in a fraction of the time. Extra of both? Who cares - p99 raiding never was challenging if you have a Zerg.
Regardless, for content tankable by knights, a paladin is going to soak the hits just as well while also having some neato tricks the SK won’t.
Vex was more or less correct for most raid content.
