I believe this is somewhat of a generalization, but (un)fortunately, preservation techniques will likely be coming back into the forefront of the national consciousness soon, so she will probably get her pickles.

Pickling takes time. How far ahead do you plan this and what do you do if someone doesn't finish their pickle ration? Food waste is a real problem!
