Was out today on a manic 20-something year old rich girl

Always a struggle to get a word in, but she had big plans. Gonna take a private jet to Vegas in 6 hours, then from there to NYC to party with a Taylor Swift (is she even there?…). She actually had insight into recognizing she was manic. But unfortunately people like how mania feels often, so she wasn’t into the idea of a walk-in psych ap’t. But she already admitted the bf refused to do anything with her on Halloween due to seeing her mental state. She also started to try to stab herself earlier today with intent to die, so there was that…

Anyway, some of her cute grandeur delusions: she could take Pi out to every digit, pretty impressive considering it’s infinite. She rattled off 3.14159 then stopped and changed subject with her tangential-ness, but I coulda stopped her and said “hey I know that many”. I did a college report on a savant dude who could take it out hundreds or thousands of digits

She also claimed to know how to cure cancer and how to speak in every language. I wanted to be like “ok, let’s hear some Tagalog”

The police really didn’t want to have to restrain her. Luckily she really liked behavioral health people and was super suggestible, so I got her to agree to go voluntary to psych walk in

Have court tomorrow because this girl apparently continues to not consent to meds

Which is pretty odd, because she admitted to me knowing that she was manic and had an interest in getting back on a mood stabilizer

But because every state requires a court order to medicate someone against their will (little known fact: psych hospitals can’t hold you down and drug you like they show in the movies…even if you were committed there against your will…UNLESS you are actively trying to hurt someone), and because this girl apparently continues to not submit to treatment, now she has a court date and a public defender

What sucks for her is I am about 150wins 0 losses in mental health court. Not really tooting my own horn here, my testimony is nearly as important as the psych hospital doctors. And the judge tends to always side with the psych hospital doctors. So this girl WILL end up getting put on court ordered treatment. That is unless she doesn’t do what a decent amount of adults do and decide to submit to treatment at the very last minute before court after Unsung has had to drag his happy ass all the way down there to court, sometimes in my goddamn OFF TIME (I still get paid but I greatly value my free time so this sucks when it’s wasted like this)

Luckily this court is during my regular shift tomorrow, not my off time. AND this girl is going to be manic as hell, probably unable to stop speaking and interrupting the court proceedings, because she is still unmedicated. That is until her public defender takes her out of the court room for turning it into a giant circus. It’s happened before. So that might be interesting
