You guys wont be happy even when there is a red99.
I think you're on to something.. XP rate on P99 blue is horrendous, I literally don't think I could do it even if there was PVP. We're talking 3 hours play time to get lvl 4, I really don't think I could handle that.

I'm with you on this one. Everyone is begging for Red99 mainly for the idea of warm and fuzzy stability, but I think the allure will die out rather quickly amongst the PvP crowd when they are level 6 with 20 hours played. Fuck that. The good PvP doesn't start until you're max level and fighting for camps, period. Yeah, enjoying being any sort of melee for the first year.

I just wish people could pick one box and fucking stick to it. Instead, they get their panties in a wad because they were banned for hacking and try to play it off on the forums and bad mouth the GMs for doing their job. Pathetic.

You're doing it wrong if you have to be level 50 to enjoy PVP, sorry.

I enjoy stabbing people for 12 dmg on my level 28 Rogue just as much as the next guy, but the good stuff is interrupting a Hate raid, Naggy fights, et cetera. You know that.

The good stuff is having 500 people in gfay and wars happening in every corner of the zone ranging from newbs to veterans imo.

This right here. It's not like the P99 model is something new. It's been tested and it works. Classic PVP servers were no different in terms of xp rate, so unless you only started EQ PVP in the Emu world, you should know this. And if you did only start in the Emu world, then it's time your eyes were opened to a whole new world of PVP.

As fun as it is fighting over raid mobs, it should be just as fun spending your time leveling and fighting over places to xp. It's the slow progress that FORCED people to play through every aspect of the game and cherish everything they earned. Without it, nobody works together and nobody gives a shit about their character or their reputation and it breeds trolls and a general "fuck everyone else" attitude at the end game.

No thanks, we've seen time and time again how that doesn't exactly work on these hundreds of PVP boxes that have folded.

Do you generally cherish things you are FORCED to do?

I agree with you in principal but the exp rate is just horrendous. It literally takes 20 hours of playing time to get level 6. As with most of us here, if I'm coming back to play en emulated version of game I used to love; it won't be to grind again. You'd think since the "purpose" of Red99 is PvP, that it would be possible for it to have an exp rate increase – not godlike, but just a bump. I really think people are underestimating how bad it is, and pair that with classic hp/mana regen.

I'd suggest to anyone who is curious to start up a guy on p1999 and see how awesome it is being level 5 for six hours.

Exp needs to be live like to promote low level pvp and give sense of accomplishment and incentive to play within the rules.
