I logged in a few times while this was going on. So many possibilities. I played as a Kerran Monk, and definitely spawned in as a Mage pet at one point (an actual player's pet). Didn't disobey...too much lol

If this was true, and pets are just (obedient) mobs that would have created carnage.

I was a shitty BB orc/snake/spider a few times 50/50 win/lose. LOIO skeleton and players were onto us by then. Many knew the pathing of mobs. If you wandered off path or act non AI players would hunt the hunters. Hilarious, and I got my butt handed to me.
Then i was a WC caster orc. Hold my beer player fodder.
Fun but short lived. I dinged him, or it showed i did.

Well they sort of were. Pets used to be able to go "wild" and be kos to everyone. This happened from mages accidentally attacking their own pet if i recall. Or maybe from going linkdead, I can't remember. Either way, every now and then you would run across a nasty mage pet sitting at a zoneline - with the owner long gone.
