I never made the leap to DAoC, Shadowbane, or Asheron's Call. I was going to get Asheron's Call 2 but the guy at the store was like "bro, just get AC 1, trust me" and I told him I'd just keep playing EQ if that's the case, and thats what I did.

It does seem like if EQ guys here are tired of 1999-2001 progression they should go try DAoC though. Seems true to the real MMO form, pre WOW ruining MMO's forever.

He was right, AC1 was better.

DAoC is great if you like PvP, but probably a wildly different vibe from Red.
