This is saying 10% but I coulda swore I remember seeing an article saying fraud was more like 40% of applications

I’d have to dig tho. You don’t remember this when it hit the news?

“They came into their riches by participating in what experts say is the theft of as much as $80 billion — or about 10 percent — of the $800 billion handed out in a Covid relief plan known as the Paycheck Protection Program, or PPP. That’s on top of the $90 billion to $400 billion believed to have been stolen from the $900 billion Covid unemployment relief program — at least half taken by international fraudsters — as NBC News reported last year. And another $80 billion potentially pilfered from a separate Covid disaster relief program”

I think I won't bother defending it anymore and just say it was a 2020 Republican program. Though it is hard to estimate shit if there was no verification like the article claims, so they're probably just extrapolating from a different known.

The separate relief program is probably EIDL

Yea I didn’t follow the PPP thing that much, and I am for helping the businesses out, I just remember a few months back seeing all these news articles saying like o shit there was a decent amount of fraud in the PPP monies

I remember getting angry only at the thought of people gettin away with it. I hate seeing ransomers and thieves get paid, that’s why I like it when countries refuse to meet their demands. I’m also a sucker for the occasional vid on YouTube where tech savvy dudes with grandma voice-changers drive online scammers up a wall and make them lose their shit

Yeah I also remember reading articles that were higher than 10%. It was massively manipulated because they just didn't have any real oversight. Didn't some of Trump's businesses use it too? lol
