You should take your own advice, Smoofers. It's the conservatives who have a growing fascism problem, not the liberals. My critique of liberalism is frequent, but not specific. My critique of conservatism is frequent, and sometimes specific.

The far sides of both political parties are pro-facism, the only difference is semantics, in terms of what they want to shut down

For the left it’s things they consider hateful/hate speech, which if applied broadly enough can be quite a lot of stuff

For the right it’s things they consider deviant/indecent, which if applied broadly enough can be quite a lot of stuff

For example, if the far left had complete control, they could do what the UK does and make it illegal to misgender someone online, etc. If the far right got complete control, they could try to ban gay marriage and completely ban pornography, etc

The methods are the same, the goals are what differ

You're talking about speech, I am talking about power. The fact that there are consequences for saying the N word in 2022 is not fascism, Romans stabbed each other to death in the street over political disagreements.

The far reaches of the left are explicitly opposed to fascism, and no, they are not perfect in this. No mass movement is ever perfect.

The far reaches of the right actually wield political power. Unlike the left. Free speech warriors from the right are suspiciously selective about which battles they fight.

The right is a few years from outright exterminating trans people, then they'll go after gay people. What terms are acceptable or not are semantics.

It's a ballot box > soap box > ammo box.
