Look, America does not give a fuck about Taiwan. They're a tiny nothingburger of a country, and historically we've done a lot worse than just leave such countries to be gobbled up by a neighbor ... we've done the gobbling (eg. Hawaii).

What we give a fuck about is not letting China control that part of the world, and so we partner with Korea, Japan, and Taiwan (among others) to keep them in check. Pelosi is there to send a signal that the US is going to continue pursue that (globalist/imperialist) interest against China, no matter how much China whines and postures.
