Saying that being able to schedule raids so that people with lives outside of an emulated Everquest server can experience content is "welfare dragons" is pretty hilarious, and ironically the people who enjoy 2AM batphones for their 2000th kill of Vindi are probably on welfare IRL. Semi-casual guilds like Kittens have shown the ability to kill every mob in the game with the caveat that most members have real lives and won't drop everything to race for a mob against guilds that will bend or outright break rules, train, rulelawyer, etc to the point where the game becames lawyerquest and you have officers filing legit legal briefs for poor overworked volunteer GMs to arbitrate. I don't think that makes the neckbeards any better at EQ, it just makes them sad.

TLDR sorry you don't have a life outside of EQ.

I'd like to see just about every Kunark and Velious item that drops in a level 46+ zone turn No Drop. I might even push that to include non-planar classic. Mostly for a fresh server however.

I agree with you. The fact of the matter is those people aren’t even really playing the raids because they enjoy EQ…they’re doing it because at the end of the day what they really enjoy is finding ways to deny others, that’s where they get the true satisfaction from otherwise they wouldn’t be the way they are about the raid content. And the reason they get so much satisfaction out of it is because they have so little going on in their real lives that the times they get to deny someone else pixels in a virtual world makes them feel powerful and important and allows them to forget the reality of their existence for just a small period of time

Sorry but this is just ridiculous. For one thing, you apparently have the power of mind-reading because you think you know what somebody's intention is for playing the game whom you don't know and have never met.

It's also just completely at odds with human nature. I don't care how polite two guilds are, if they both want a target, they are going to race to kill that target. People do enjoy that competition, that's why they play here. There are tonnnnns of "mmos" that offer the ability to schedule raids (instances) you could play.

There isn't any real difference between another guild denying you pixels, and simply not being able to defeat a raid encounter. In the latter case, the NPC you can't kill is denying you pixels. It's all pixel lust at the end of the day, whether it's instanced or not.
