working for a few years to save up cash to buy a Daniel Defense AR15 to shoot up a school? well, what a prissy bitch. That is a long time to sit on your anger with only the image of a Daniel Defense AR15 floating through your mind. Nothing else would do.
Some people do simmer and stew that long and make fairly intricate plans. I mean, if your life's going noplace, what else do you have to do? One of my buddies I grew up with planned for a couple of years to shoot up some folks who he felt deserved it just before graduation. He spent a good while figuring out where he could obtain (ie, steal) a S&W .357 from, because those were the days when magnums were all the rage. He ended up getting caught just before he could carry it out and landed in prison.

Ya which is why waiting periods, while effective for things like crimes of passion, won’t stop mass murderers

The majority of mass murdered have already decided to end their own life first. Then they expand that thought into killing others. But most were already suicidal. If it’s your last action, yea, some people are willing to really plan that out

Even psychotic mass murderers have managed to make intricate plans spanning months or years, which is even more difficult because these people’s brains are feeding them delusions, hallucinations, messing with their ability to make simple decisions, and usually causing them to not be able to sleep well if at all. Yet even they can still make long plans for their massacres. Sometimes their ability to plan is even used against them in court to demonstrate mental competency to try to avoid getting an insanity plea

Crimes of passion aren't planned, to my knowledge.

Yeah that’s what I meant. If a husband discovers his wife cheated, goes to the gun store to buy a gun, gets put on a 2 month waiting period, then during the 2 months he decides to get on Tinder and bangs some hoes, then changes his mind and just divorces his wife instead of killing her, then the waiting period did some good

But it won’t stop a mass murderer

This kid was still in school and working (supposedly) to save up the cash? that is one disciplined youth, to save up and not spend his school-shooter money on clothes, girls, food, entertainment, car etc.

Might've been saving it anyway. I had some K's saved by the time I graduated high school, and money then went farther than it does now, and I definitely had clothes/girls/etc as well. Add in a little determination and it's....well let's call it plausible. 'Course he just as easily might've ripped someone off someplace or had some outside help, too. It'll come out eventually if so.

Thanks for clarifying. That's plenty plausible, too.
