All I know is I sat through a big meeting of all the DSA chapters while they voted on whether or not to compose and send a tersely worded letter to Bernie Sanders about Yemen or something and it took two hours and everyone was tripping over each other to shout let the people of color talk first, we need to hear from fewer white men, let the mothers talk, let the disabled talk. I understand that there should be more diverse representation and all of that, sure, but you have to row the goddamn boat in the same direction to get across the river

Meanwhile, my Hispanic wife was not allowed to enter because this meeting was SO SECRET

I never went to another DSA meeting, the conservatives have nothing to worry about from them, they couldn't organize a lemonade stand
