You do know how politics works, right? In America, you build support for an idea first, and if enough people agree with you, it gets passed into law. It isn't like this stuff happens spontaneously.

When a Governor of a state openly discusses a topic, that is a calcuated move to guage support for an issue. There are plenty of proposed issues that haven't passed in history. Just because it didn't pass doesn't mean it couldn't have passed.

Can take that further, if you wanna do ANYTHING, you have to mention it first. You can't get anyone on your side if no one knows what you wanna do.

Example: You're hanging out with a group of friends, topic of dinner comes around, Some of them wanna go to the steakhouse, others wanna hit the italian joint. One might say to the folks who want italian that the steakhouse makes an excellent veal marsala, trying to sway them toward the restaurant they would prefer.

You speak up to gauge and measure support on an issue, if nobody likes it then you do something else. Politics is no different.

I know its a stretch to ask horza or gravy to understand a concept like, "group of friends" but most of you get it.

I'll go further with mask mandates: This is entirely an attempt in measuring compliance among the population. First you say, OK EVERYONE HAS TO DO JUST THIS ONE THING" Then, if it seems like people go along with it, you go on to your next agenda item.

There is a military ground strategy called "salami slicing", where you move like 1 foot a week, eventually you gain substantial ground and your enemy didn't even notice.
