Televisions don't typically have people using headphones so the visual cues were switched to. IMO it's a much dumber experience. 3D audio placement was in EQ back in era, it was awareness when you had the spell book open.

One thing I really hated in classic was that stupid book staring feature. That book staring idea was so retarded, even Verant never brought it back for a reason once removed... stare at the book like an idiot.

Maybe the new 3:2 aspect ratio computer monitors will be able to bring back the computer aesthetic. A 4K square(ish).
