You seem a little bit defency, i didnt assume you liked China nor did i insinuate it. I was just pointing out the sillyness of your example.
For example, humans learn by doing things, both successes and failures. We write down our successes so others can learn. We write down our failures so we dont do them again. So, someone wrote down about the past, slaves for example so we dont do it again (if we think its a BAD idea at is).
Now, not wanting to teach subsequent generations about our failures shows me that it wants to be hidden, ignored or dismissed. Not a good look either way. But anywho, i am what you would call godless so i suppose my opinion means nuffin.

Not sure we’re arguing, all I would say is the mistakes of the past are subjective, and it would be better to teach children how to think so they can reason that out for themselves, as opposed to teaching them what to think

Brainwashing kids in either direction will simply make them take school less seriously. I’m also a frugal male engineer, so humanities other than classical history don’t appeal to me. How many children have read the federalist papers, I wonder, or know who had the pen name Publius
