Just takes one mad powerful government official to bring down the FBI on them. Not joking either. CFAA. I've seen some decompiles of the file P99 uses and it is pretty limited to just the memory space of eqgame.exe but I didn't do that work myself so can't say for sure.

Very true, Perez-Melara, was placed on the FBI's Cyber Most Wanted list in 2013 for making a stalker program that did a lot of what these boxes are doing. Searching browser history is a disaster waiting to happen.
