You are playing with a lot of bots. If a dude just stands there and gets beat or repeatedly sits after pulling aggro over and over again you’re not playing with a real human player. That’s also why they never respond.

There are problems with the community, but I find the average TLP player to be more skilled than the average P99 player. The game itself is harder than P99. P99 is just grindier. Like when I buff my group on P99 I buff everyone at one time and don’t worry about it for a couple of hours. On TLP I don’t have enough mana to do that, so I’m constantly trying to slowly buff and maintain buffs on multiple players while also trying to save enough mana to heal and I regularly have to CC, dispel mobs, stun, cure poison/disease every single pull — something far less common on P99 — also dying is super common — my cleric on p99 never dies between two barriers and lower mob AI where you drop all aggro super easy and root is broken OP and never resists or breaks.

There’s not nearly as many chanters and it’s completely normal for players to CC 5 mobs in compact spaces using nothing but Root or Necromancer mez or Bard charm... P99 players would never even attempt this, if they don’t get an enchanter they just give up.

Also I would say people on TLP communicate way more if they aren’t bots..I’ve been in Discord calls with almost every single group I’ve had.. this never happened, not even once on P99...

The biggest problem I’ve had so far is people being blatantly greedy. For instance almost every group I’ve been in has a group leader who decides to give himself loot because he needs it, but doesn’t apply the same logic to others in the group. For instance a Shaman earlier awarded himself 5 pieces of Totemic, including the helmet and a darksea harpoon because they are Shaman only... but then when abalone gorget and adamantite epaulets drop, and I’m the only Cleric... nah, time to greed roll. Had a Ranger do the same thing with Granite bracers, and then when Runed Mithril Bracers drop and I NEED them, nah, greed roll... same dude took a mithril breastplate and then took a brigantine tunic 5 minutes later... and then when the bard wants another brig tunic that drops.. same guy insists on greed roll...this isn’t like rare occurrences either, every group I’ve been in has been like this and people tolerate it because they want to level while exp is still fast but you can tell everyone silently hates it.

Also saw a Druid win a thick banded belt and then curse a rogue out for not giving the Druid black chitin leggings that dropped...like wtf lol

Look forward to getting a guild with people I like playing with because so far I kind of hate a lot of people and have already started a shut list of people I won’t group with.

Edit those of us who hit 50 super fast may be much more skilled and competitive than those who are still level 30... maybe there are legit bads down there, but I feel like I’m playing with ultra competitive people..
They weren't bots, they were communicative. My experience as well with loot; I only play in groups that N everything or that I lead. I had some druid throw a tantum after we wouldn't give him Gatorscale leggings after I had to roll against 3 druids for my first magic weapon as a ranger. Booted his ass to the curb.

No one on P99 forms groups without Enchanters. Love how on TLP mez is nerfed, and several other classes can fill the CC slot in a group.
Just more Joe lies.

People group all the time without enchanters. Obviously if there’s an open spot and a group needs an ench they will try to take an ench over another class but it’s a joke to say that people just refuse to group without enchanters. I have seen a couple groups disband at a certain point depending on group composition and level if the content they’re doing is too high for the healer to keep up with without C, but those are limited instances and not the same as saying no one will ever group without an Ench.

Joe usually just talks about things he does and applies them to everyone else.

Lol p99 @ this point just consists of afk enchanter alt tabs ccing (camp checking) each other. It's almost impossible to not have 10 of them waiting in line at any given spot.

You know this really does feel like classic EverQuest. 20 years ago when you got a group in Lower Guk you didn't just camp AM or just Ritualist. You camped the entire wing you were in.

One of the problems with P99 is that you're only allowed to camp one mob, which means that there's no reason to group up there. On P99 I can remember people declaring that they were camping cavalier, exe or ritualist while waiting for a better camp to open up -- as a veteran I found this extremely odd because I remember these wings being camps designed to sustain an entire group. On TLP this would never happen. You can likely go to another pick if you want to solo something (no one is going to fight you over a single camp, especially when drops are random), but you can also go to a pick and get into a group that is able to camp entire wings at once without any drama. Last night I got into an "exe" group, where we also killed Ritualist, Ass/Supp, and even pulled Sentinel, hand room and AM regularly. It felt like the Guk I actually remembered all those years ago. Guk is an exciting zone when you hear "Rit is up, Cav is up" etc. On P99 it's like okay let's wait 28 minutes... for another placeholder... on TLP when you're pulling multiple rare PHs .... the way that the zone was intended... there's almost a guaranteed chance you'll get at least 1-2 rares every respawn cycle.

Game actually feels way more challenging when you’re pushing yourself to get as many rare mobs as you can before respawn. Clearing down the hallway to Lord, completely OOM, having Paladin tank also off heal, being on the verge of a wipe the entire time as you race back from Lord to Frenzied... you start to really value good players more, and you get your own opportunity to show people what you can do...

And with Pick zones, you can easily get your own zone to solo in if that's what you really want. I was solo'ing Sentinel and Supplier/Assasssin last night without any drama, when another group asked me if I wanted to join them at Ham/Lord and camp EVERY THING, and we did.

Also a level 50 Cleric on TLP is super powerful in Lower Guk because of the way banestrike and mana regen works. Your Undead nukes take significantly less mana to cast than they do on P99, and with Banestrike they do like 600 damage (Sound of Force with banestrike is like 400 damage), so with Clarity and Bard Song I was able to stay above 70% mana while nuking every single mob into oblivion, but at the same time I was the main healer.

I felt immensely powerful, sort of like how Druids have their moment in Sol B when they charm a Sonic Bat.

But also one genius thing about Thornblade and Mischief... if you want to solo Guk for rares, you absolutely can do this, and it has it's perks, but since you don't actually know which mob is going to drop FBSS, or Guise, you are way better off joining up with another group where you're able to kill many named mobs instead of just one mob by yourself like you normally would on P99.

Edit: Vendors selling invisibility potions is a really nice thing for a Cleric. Especially on a server where you want to by pass a lot of trash mobs for a specific rare mob [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Would be awesome if instead of posting about TLPs here Joe and his alt account went and spammed the TLP server about it.

Posting about it here is like walking into a burger place and telling them how much you like pizza lol
