Most of the middle east wants each other to die too

one time we were visiting and iraqi police checkpoint because we were supposed to be their friends and what not.... so were like stopped at this checkpoint, traffic is backed up behind us, and we finally leave

we go around the corner and we actually found a weapon cache, which was neat because you normally never find stuff like this, and it wasnt buried, but instead was in an empty house. so we're chilling out outside this house, sitting on the hood of humvee or around it when all of the sudden there's a really loud explosion .... just around the street corner we had been at...

we roll up tot that checkpoint and realize a carbomb had gone off.. it was a vehicle that had been sitting there while we were stopped there. they could have killed half our platoon at least, but there was iraqi soldiers in the backed up traffic behind us that they wanted to kill even more than they wanted to kill us, so they waited for us to leave and detonated the bomb on them instead

remember being super hungry and when we were there i smelled roasted chicken and my mouth began to water, and then i realized i was smelling burnt human remains instead.

when we went back to the cache days later it was gone... some people thought the bomb was a distraction to get us to leave the cache, but we eventually learned it wasnt even related to the cache. they just wanted to kill their own neighbors more than they wanted to kill us. sunni and shia hate each other. and iraqi's hate afghani's REALLY bad.
