You would be blind to not realize that social media is programmed to feed you mostly information that it thinks you would want to take in. And what it assumes (correctly so for most people) is information you want to take in is information that confirms your pre-existing beliefs Also, it is human nature to want to shut down the opposition. If there more of one party in a particular location, that party will tend to bully the other one out of that location. Both parties do this. We tend to want to surround ourselves with people who validate and don’t challenge how we feel, because that’s considered (and correctly so) therapeutic Or am I wrong on this. Do you attend conservative rallies and insist on surrounding yourself with mostly conservative friends by choice and not because they are the only ones available? Bravo if so, but you would be an anomaly Also, most news media on both sides are outrage merchants peddling clickbait headlines, because it sells. I can deny the ethics of such a tactic all day, but I cannot deny the efficacy of it

Also, can we stop saying news media on both side? We know who owns 95% of American news outlet and none of those white dude a leftist. They're conservative making money, shaping our discourse. P.S: I have a baccalaureate, and have many friends with a phd. It's not hard, it's dedication to learning a thing just so some shithead on the internet can say that you research is fake. Quote:
Less outrage, please. Especially against someone expressing themselves in a way that is not 144 characters or less.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gannett It also owns “the national newspaper USA Today, as well as several local newspapers, including the Detroit Free Press; The Indianapolis Star; The Cincinnati Enquirer; The Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville, Florida; The Tennessean in Nashville, Tennessee; The Daily News Journal, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee; The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Kentucky; the Democrat and Chronicle in Rochester, New York; The Des Moines Register; The Arizona Republic in Phoenix, Arizona; The News-Press in Fort Myers, Florida; the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; and the Great Falls Tribune in Great Falls, Montana” Ever since Gannett bought out these publications, they began publishing with a liberal bias. Feel free to challenge this and claim publications like USA Today are not liberal, I’d love to show you some articles to the contrary. I have quite a few ready to go, just give the word Not sure where you are getting your information that conservatives own mainstream media. Conservatives own Fox, OAN, Newsmaxx and that’s about all I can think off of the top of my head Democrats owning mainstream media and being a mouthpiece for the DNC is exactly why Biden won the last election And no I’m always for free speech. I don’t want to shut any news down. I say bravo for controlling the mainstream media. If people are too stupid to get their information from elsewhere, that’s on them Nor do I see a need to protect people from “misinformation”. Full grown adults should be able to develop the critical thought to differentiate what is real and fake and if they can’t, that’s on them too. This crusade against misinformation by liberals is a joke. There’s misinformation everywhere, in advertising, in nutrition labels, in documentaries, in politics. There can be no end once you open the door to shutting down misinformation. Are democrats going to shut down Gary’s Plenty of Fish dating site profile saying “Gary, we know your dick is only 5.2 inches not 8 inches, that’s misinformation” It’s just another form of censorship, weaponized to be used when it suits them. People need to be allowed to make their own mistakes, including taking in the wrong information
