I don't recommend it. Shadowlands is arguably the worst expansion to date, and I think it only has a lifeline at all because of the pandemic and stimulus money. Like... IDK dude. It's the most time-gated thing I've ever seen. Imagine grinding your heart out, only to find out you now have to wait another week so you can do more pointless campaign stuff before being able to advance your ilvl. There's also no real way for PVE'ers to gear up without doing PVP, and you're looking at 2 months of a very serious and very long grind to get optimal pvp gear from battlegrounds (you stand no chance at doing Arenas without fully upgraded honor gear because they got rid of PVP scaling).
