A couple of classes and gear questions

In everquest, shields are not required for tanking. You will be expected to try to maximize your aggro so you will usually be using 1 handed weapons with aggro inducing procs.

You should be an ogre but do whatever you want.

You don't need any money to start. Just play and you will find what you need.

Yes. Excuse me because I've always had gear on my melees, except a dwarf warrior with a few bronze pieces but someone gave me gear quick.

We would rather have more people play. And even though some people might be upset of a melee with no gear, ignore them and just play.

There's an entire guild that refuses to twink lowbies and they were and/or are still around.
