Civilization was built on government and bureaucracy. Bureaucracy maintained the Roman Empire for hundreds of years. Bureaucracy won the world wars. American bureaucracy beat Soviet bureaucracy in the Cold War.

Libertarianism is anarchy. The glorification of it in American culture is a Reaganite phenomenon. The rot started there.
