Nothing will ever get done, by either party. To do so would only lose a wedge issue with your own base, and dampen your own support while riling up the other side. Hence why Obama didnt ban guns, implement Medicare for all, universal income, etc when the Dems had a filibuster proof majority in 2009 and why Repubs couldnt repeal Obamacare or Roe v Wade when they controlled all sections of government in 2017. They are just playing you fools who believe US politics is a life or death battle, while they suck up the lobbyist donations to their own personal benefit.

Getting rid of the fillibuster might help a bit, but the hyper partisanship is so out of control now.
