Both countries have strong comfortable living for the middle class.

I know you don’t know him. Athens was the better of the two cities, but they fell because of their hubris and adventurism in Sicily. And because of my persian ancestors practicing offshore balancing.

Athens had its merits, but the drill and discipline of Sparta was like Rome post Marius; they were way ahead of their time. In any case, most of the major Greek city states in the 5th century BC were intellectually superior to 88% of nations around today

I thought sparta fell because they upgraded all the infantry upgrades and didnt research into archery. When your ogre warrior too much.
