Got a chance to look into this further; you are correct. The item can drop, yes, but the npc that can drop it does not spawn - Mistress Latazura.

I believe this is part of a missing sirens grotto revamp that needs more discussion and research.

Sirens Grotto has been changed a bit. It should be a more interesting zone now.

This lute dropped off Mistress Latazura twice for us last night on Tunare server. We killed her once and she almost immediately repopped.

She spawned for us twice...once right after the other. She dropped the bard lute both times. Once she dropped the 60th Wizzie Ice Spear spell. We had three groups 50+, heavily weighted 55+. She was cake for us. Our 60th SK puller was awesome and broke a very difficult room that she spawned in.

We killed her some days ago, one group of level 60's.
Shaman (me), chanter, warrior, rogue, cleric, and druid.
She droped a bow, cant remember name since the war got it, it has something like 175 or 180 range, and a proc, a nice bow for sure.

We had this drop the other day from Mistress Latazyra (Mistress PMS) She also dropped a runed sea shell (EB) which is used for the 7th shawl quest, and a quest gem for INT caster robe. She also dropped a black sapphire I believe.

We had 3 groups to drop her and we lost a total of 2 I think from the battle, 1 was the 59 Enc that tash'd her (dead instantly Go Adjani! =P) and I think a ranger. The battle lasted awhile because she cast Forlorn Deeds on most of the melee and that can put a damper on your plans. All total we lost about 4-5 because no one was able to stun at the end and she gated and brought back all her castle friends (2 sirens 1 icy servent and 1 watery servent).

A magic resist based snare is quite crappy [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] If you are a ranger, go ahead and get the bow from gleed instead (it procs a 81pt DD, great for bow kiting and can be quested for, or you can camp gleed for it). Rangers need bows that proc DD's or other extra damage spells, not something that procs a crappy snare [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I could see this bow being useful for a soloing warrior - or more than likely, being worn for the resistances on it. Other than that its really a toy. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I don't know, but 170 range is good. The veluim recurves coming out of DN are like 30 37 100/150 range and are tradeable. This is a nice bow. Sounds like a snare/root proc to me.

This should also be a trash drop. As for the date the item picture upload was handled the same day as all of the other sg loot we currently see. Both horns both drums ect. Date is February so it would not be from the revamp.

Sol invictus of bristlebane was the source for all the original sg loot images on allakazams file servers. They were all uploaded in the first 7 weeks of velious. Mistress doesn't appear to be in game when lute was dropping and no mention on the names ever dropping it that were in game at launch so it must have been a siren trash drop.

The items in question were placed on a siren coercer's loot table after the 2003 revamp, which may be why people assumed they weren't classic items as it isn't a classic NPC.

I am currently working my way around SG and clearing to find new mobs and new drops. here is the zone info I can tell you.
A SIREN COERCER:
As far as I can tell this mob only spawns in the hanging bridge tower. I cleared here for 4 hours and got her 6 times. Seductress also spawned here. Coercer dropped the lute and the EB arms.
A SIREN TEMPTRESS
I got this mob once on every spawn cycle clearing the small castle (the one that is near the hanging bridges area.

After a bit of poking around in my favorite Velious zone I thought I'd post the new stuff I've came across ..

New Mobs: Deadly Siren, Siren Coercer, Siren Mymirdon, Massive Walrus and Massive Manatee
.... All the above except the siren mymirdon are named and drop loots ....

Also, the "entralled ulthork" (old mob new model) has the model for the GD bear's, and drops a descent face slot, also a all/all 2hb 32/35 w/ stats and around 0.4 weight (2hb is rarer) ..

The Siren Coercer now drop's the 3ac 10str EB arms, Lyndlen's Lute (sp?) and that suck 25/50 war/rng NO DROP bow

Seems like we need to shift to what trash mobs were dropping lutes, because they were clearly dropping on release velious. Seems very likely it would share a table with the bard horns but it would be nice to get a reference for Nilbog to work off of.
